There's no minimum — a single prototype is a normal job and most first orders are 1–10 pieces for validation. For production I routinely run 50–500 pieces, and small batches of 500–2,000 are fine too. If a larger run is better served by a bigger shop (roughly beyond 2,000 pieces), I'll tell you up front and refer you rather than over-promise.
Prototypes commonly ship in around a week, depending on complexity and material grade. Simple thin-wall or small parts can be faster, while larger 5-axis or multi-operation jobs take longer. I give you an honest, part-specific lead time with every quote, and update you if anything shifts — so the date I quote is the date I commit to.
Machined surfaces hold around ±0.005 mm where the geometry allows, with ±0.01–0.02 mm typical across a run. What's realistic depends on wall thickness, feature size, and material — thin-wall titanium moves more than solid sections, so I confirm achievable tolerances on your actual drawing during the free DFM review before quoting.
STEP (.step), STP (.stp), IGS (.igs), and PDF (.pdf) drawings. STEP is best because it carries the exact 3D geometry and tolerances; a PDF with dimensions is fine for a quick quote. If you only have a 2D DXF/DWG or even a hand sketch, send it anyway — I'll review it and tell you what I need to give you an accurate number.
